We live more out of our vehicles than we live in our vehicles. If you are in a car, SUV, or van, you spend much of your time outside. So setting up a comfortable outdoor camp is really important. Having a good table and chair you’re comfortable in outside will improve your life.
Years ago, I reviewed a Tire Table on my YouTube channel. I liked everything about it except the weight. It was steel and heavy at sixteen pounds. I ended up giving it away to someone who really enjoyed it and didn’t mind the weight.
Tailgater has since come out with an aluminum option that is half the weight of the steel version. Aluminum is generally more expensive than steel and reflects that in the price. When I found a blemished model on sale in their booth at the Overland Expo, I didn’t hesitate to buy it.
I’ve wanted another table, so this came at just the right time. It’s going on the tire that is just outside the door, so I’ll have a table right there when I come outside. It will be convenient on nights like tonight when I’m cooking and bringing things to set out.
This one is really light and only weighs five and a half pounds. The bar adjusts and tightens to fit the size of your tire. The table uses the vehicle tire for its main support. There’s a retractable leg built in that can come down for extra support if needed. The table will hold up the fifty pounds. It’s so light and thin and breaks down easily. I think I’m going to be really pleased with this.
The Tire Table is a lot of money and what I consider a luxury item. Prioritize your emergency fund before purchasing a thing like this. If you have a little extra money to spend, I think you’ll be pleased to have the Tire Table. On the other hand, most of us will be completely content with a more inexpensive option.
I’ve had a 4 Foot Fold-In-Half table from Walmart for years. It sets up and tears down pretty easily. When ready to use it, unfold the table, pull out the legs, and snap them into place. The carrying handle makes portability easy. It has been highly durable, easily holding at least sixty pounds. It’s compact and light enough at twelve pounds.
Outdoor tables really come in handy on the road. For the low cost of this table, it will be one of the best investments you can make. I know I’m showing you something expensive, but you don’t have to spend that much money on a great table that will do what you need.
