People who would leave this behind also kick dogs, mistreat children and are walking shitbags, taking everything they can but giving nothing back but manure.

And this’s the reason:
a — we get to camp in the early afternoon instead of mad-slasher midnight
b — we swing by the ranger to ask for trash-bags and the place to dump them
c — we carry the 200-pack of nitrile gloves.

This is why I have to buy contractor size heavy duty garbage bags and a box of disposable gloves. I may not be able to walk far but I still can bend over and pick up! Leave no trace.
I think this is more of a bulldozer and hazmat suit situation.

there was a book in the 70’s I think that gave a reason for people being like this.
it said it is because we are descended from things that lived in trees and would just ‘go’ over the side wherever they were.
some seem to be much closer to those animals than others.
Since you brought it up, let me point out the words from an older book that states the truth about why some treat the earth like a garbage dump: please read 2 Timothy 3: 1-5!
And remember, Cain the firstborn son of our first earthly parents, killed his brother, Abel. So, it’s not a stretch for us to now be at the point in time where some men just do not care about anything.

I have cleaned up many such piles. In the piles where there was identification 100% so far have been from the nearest town. Including Pahrump.
*Locals* are driving the dumping problem as far as I can see.

THESE are the people that complain our campsites are dwindling. THESE people don’t give a damn about anyone but themselves. THESE are lazy, inconsiderate jerks.
I wish someone would go thru this trash (with a hazmat suit) to see if there’s any incriminating evidence & confront them… safely.
Schmucks…

I live in am area where the county issues large trash cans and do pickups weekly. A few times a year they do brush and large objects such as refrigerators, stoves and such. It’s paid for by taxes and still people litter the roadways and dump large items in the creeks. I’ll never understand their motives. Most humans will not do things without a payback whether physically or emotionally. Maybe there is some type of excitement not unlike shoplifting with a wallet stacked with cash. Or maybe a ” my life is terrible so everyone else’s should be too” type attitude. It’s sad whatever the motive.

I normally do not comment on any of these posts because I agree with the other comments.
However ,seeing this picture of trash left behind reminded me of a movie I watched just a few days ago. The film was about a race of people who had invaded another planet because theirs’ was dying.
The inhabitants of this new planet fought hard against the invaders and actually captured one of them. This alien was afraid of the water because the water on her planet burned the skin. She did not want to eat any food because where she came from the food was full of contaminants. The people of this new planet assured the alien that the food and water on this planet was fine. To make a long story short, about three-quarters of the way into this movie the alien was asked how she got there and from what world she came from. She answered that they had traveled many light years through a wormhole from a planet they called EARTH. Scary, huh?
