THE BRITISH ARE RATHER… BRITISH. So the exit signs in the London Underground (and perhaps elsewhere in the country) don’t say EXIT, they say WAY OUT. As in “this is the way out of here.”
Cheap RV Living is like those signs, pointing to a way out of a life that no longer works for you (if it ever did). Like the English exit signs, CRVL provides a direction, but you need to do the walking, the stair climbing, and the escalator riding out of pit you’re in. Then, once you’re at the street, the rest is up to you. Some of you will need more guidance, assistance and encouragement than others. That’s okay. The important thing is to not just stand on the platform watching the world — and your life — pass by.
Is vanlife a means to an end (to what end?) Or is vanlife an end in and of itself?
It can be whatever you want it to be. In my case, the “end” is to live as unencumbered and as happy as possible with my limited funds and remaining life.
I’ve had bouts of the vanlife such as living in a semi truck in the sleeper for 12+ years and camping in my truck for a few months last year then a 12′ trailer as well as a sailboat in the past. I love the freedom of being debt free and not chained to a job anymore! I’m currently renting a spare room in my friend’s house until I go to the Philippines next month.. I’ll never go back to the life of debt and stress again to have the “American Dream”
VanLife or Living in an RV, truck, SUV, car traveling or parked fulltime is just alternative living. I use a Large CT camper (cargo Trailer) parked and then a smaller CT camper 6×10 along wth an SUV for travels
